What is Esther's Voice
|
Esther's Voice was created in 2008 after MacKillop Family Services approached Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service and Jesuit Social Services to explore the benefits of a collaborative approach to research and advocacy.
In joining together through the Esther's Voice collaboration, we are seeking to initiate a range of current projects providing high quality research and advocacy on issues of agreed mutual importance that otherwise may not be given due attention if left to the work of individual organisations. Other benefits of the Esther's Voice collaboration include greater strength in advocating for changes arising from research.
Esther's Voice reflects our shared commitment to social justice and the four fundamental principles of Catholic Social Teaching: the dignity of the human person; the common good; subsidiarity; and solidarity.
Esther's Voice operates with a Governance Group that comprises two representatives from each participating organisation.
In addition to the work of Esther's Voice, the three auspicing bodies will continue to independently undertake research and advocacy on issues relevant to their participants/service-users and other stakeholders within their respective organisations.
